The real dangers of its sex clubs which the government doesn’t discuss

Top U.S. disease control agency reports an ‘alarming’ rise in youth sexual infections

The sex lives of Alberta’s seven to seventeen-year-olds went back onto the front pages again recently. Jason Kenney, architect of the newly-formed United Conservative Party and candidate for its leadership, declared that if any student applied to join one of the school “sex clubs,” a Conservative government would inform the parents. (Unless, he added, child abuse was known to exist in the family.)

Much “hurtful” language descended upon him from the Left. In laying such an obligation on the government, and bestowing such an authority on parents, said David Eggen, the minister of Education, Kenney was clearly “an extremist.” Several Leftist publications went further. They said Kenney was “outing” these students.

The use of that word is significant. In this context, “to out” somebody or something means to make it public. Thus, in the view of the government, to tell the parent, is to tell the world. So the student’s parents are like the people who pass him on the street. Nobodies. Maybe even enemies. His only real and dependable friend is Government. That’s the lesson. The kid would have to be more than half loony to believe it, of course, but apparently that doesn’t prevent it from becoming the central mindset of our socialist rulers.

The “safety” of the child is uppermost in the government’s mind, says the minister. He means safety, not just from the perceived dangers of the parent, but also from the common ridicule of the mob. Jeers like “fag, fairy, fruit, pansy” have their equivalents in every language of humanity. (My mother, by the way, never referred to homosexuals as “pansies,” not because she didn’t like the word, but because she could never remember the flower. She kept calling them “geraniums,” which confused people and left all but the immediate family wondering what on earth she was talking about. I recall her once telling a circle of people, “He walks like a geranium, you know.” Dead silence followed.

However, the Left has now embarked on the creation, through the Department of Education, of a new kind of society with a new kind of human being who won’t talk or think this way. It is a noble endeavour, with no chance whatever of success. As the government prohibits one set of words, the inventive among us will simply come up with a new set, infinitely worse than their predecessors. So the victims will long to go back to the good old days when they were pansies.

Absurdities aside, it is necessary to point out that the students drawn into these clubs are being exposed to dangers far more real than unpleasant language and various government-fuelled conflicts within the family. The fact is that their very lives are being put in danger. The government must know this and is concealing it. For this alone they should be hurled from office.

Before this point can be made, however, one reality must be recognized. These clubs are not confined to the provision of information and a place of social congeniality for “sexual minorities.” They will pre-eminently serve as missions to foster and perpetuate the forms of conduct which those minorities represent, and which virtually all the great religious traditions of the world denounce unequivocally. That said, consider the following:

In November, 2015, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States published what it described
as an “alarming” document. It showed:

• That reported cases of three nationally notifiable Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) – chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and syphilis – have increased for the first time since 2006.
• That despite being a relatively small portion of the sexually active population, young people between the ages of 15 and 24 accounted for the highest rates of chlamydia and gonorrhoea in 2014 and almost two thirds of all reported cases.
• That P&S syphilis among men who have sex with men (MSM) has been increasing since at least 2000. MSMs account for 83 percent of reported cases among men when the sex of the partner is known.
• That more than half of MSMs (51 percent) diagnosed with syphilis in 2014 were also HIV-positive. (meaning they re carrying the highly communicable disease that is a frequent forerunner of AIDS). Infection with syphilis can cause sores on the genitals, which make it easier to transmit and acquire HIV.
• CDC recommends screening at least once a year for syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhoea for all sexually active MSMs..
• The consequences of STDs are especially severe for young people,” said Gail Bolan, M.D., director of CDC’s Division of STD Prevention. “Because chlamydia and gonorrhoea often have no symptoms, many infections go undiagnosed and this can lead to lifelong repercussions for a woman’s reproductive health, including pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility.”

It happens that this CDC report. with its crucial information about sexually active young people, came out just at the time the Alberta government was developing its plan for the sex clubs in the schools. One wonders: Did the planners of that program read the report? Or even hear of it? Not if you read the central tome of their planning, all set forth in a glossy 150-page brochure entitled Prism, published by the teachers union with government funding. Page after page, chapter after chapter Prism passionately pleads for acceptance, even high regard, for various forms of sexual conduct that not long ago were almost universally recognized as depraved.

Prism may be regarded as the official manual for sex-ed in Alberta. Yet, astonishing as this may be, there is scarcely a single mention anywhere in the entire 150 pages of any physical dangers prevalent in the activity which Prism enjoins our teachers to respect, honour and even acclaim to their students. The safety of our students is our first concern,” Prism’s devotees never tire of telling us, while shepherding them into syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV and possibly AIDS. The hypocrisy is nauseous. The negligence must surely border on the criminal.

Again and again we are being told that we must put an end to “homophobia.” Our elected politicians cringe at the possibility that someone might call them a “homophobe.” What does the word mean? Fear of homosexuality, presumably. Well in that case, would not those 302,000 sexually active gay men who died often horrible deaths in the AIDS epidemic still be alive today if they had been more “homophobic?” Indeed, could not this report from the CDC be accurately described as a scientifically documented case for greater and more intensive homophobia? That is its inescapable message. Yet there is not a single mention in Prism in all its 150 pages of the unquestionably lethal dangers into which teachers are being enjoined to encourage the children entrusted to them.

What is the province’s legal position? If my son or daughter, having reached, say, the age of ten or eleven, is lured into a school sex club, is persuaded that he or she must be homosexual, acts accordingly, acquires HIV and then AIDS and remains crippled for life, whom do I sue? The government, or the minister that helped bring this tragedy upon us?

Meanwhile, other tidbits of information are trickling out in various academic papers. The AIDS epidemic killed 302,143 gay men, and it isn’t over. According to the CDC, one in five sexually active gays is carrying the AIDS virus and half those infected don’t know it. With such data floating about, one might validly ask: In its tireless promotion of its sex clubs in the schools, what is the Department of Education doing to warn young people of the very real dangers involved? Should the government impose mandatory medical testing in its sex clubs?

To sum up, our kids are being subjected to an educational endeavour that is manifestly dangerous to them with no warning whatever from the government that’s subjecting them to it. That is the uppermost folly of the sex clubs, and if you care for your children and grandchildren, you will forward this column to all the parents and grandparents you know. There’s another imminent danger in these clubs, but it will require a further article to describe it.
